test of a squier stratocaster 1984
i can' t resist to make you heard about the famous squier 1984 (série SQ ...).
This was my first strat, was eighteen and work hard in the vineyards for all autumn to pay it.
Some say it is now a sort of squier vintage and some could pay around 1000 Euros to have one (but this is business ...).
Whatever, it is all stock, except the refinish i 've done 5 years ago cause it was so worn (nowaday it is fashionnable to have a worn guitar i should have wait more but ...
I think PU are céramics (if somebody really have the information, please find out.), it is not great but i show you the sweet spot of the beast.

I have a 1987 …
I have a 1987 Fender Squier made in Japan. Great guitar. The pickups were okay but I replaced them and the electronics with Custom ‘54 pickups and CTS pots and switch. It’s much better now. But overall the guitar feel and look and workmanship is great.
Early 1980’s …
Early 1980’s vintage Japanese Squiers are sleeping giants. Excellent craftsmanship and great overall feel that you would typically only find in guitars costing three times as much.

Hi, nice playing, and a nice guitar too. I have an 84-SQ but it’s black with a maple neck. (I prefer the maple necks to rosewood.) The 84-SQ is very expensive, when available on e-bay, but the ‘new’ 70’s re-issue Mexico Fender is the nearest thing to it, so I bought one last year. All through a 1974 WEM Clubman amp!
