Pick-ups make a …
Pick-ups make a HUGE difference….which is why I posted this vid here…to show that point. Different Amps different sounds… Go to your local music store and plug yours into different amps and see….
Got the same guitar …
Got the same guitar sitting right next to me! How much of a diff. does the new pu make vs. the quality of amp you use?
im pretty good? i …
im pretty good? i figured out the game it’s either a 100 t or 150 which is high out output version so here is the next question, is yours the high output version.ill get to the bottom of this some year?
Tubedusty, Hi how …
Tubedusty, Hi how are you?
Try typing in “Lace Sensor” on ebay or go to their website, google it if need be. There is not a color on the “black pick up”, a.k.a the bridge pickup. Lace Sensor music products makes a set for Telecaster & tele copies.
The Fender Vibrolux has a great clean sound, but also has a nice early breakup (for distortion) around 5 on the volume dial. The lace pickups I bought were used. New old stock (NOS) or ebay or your local store can help.
Ciao for now,

so far ive found out there are red lace and blue lace, im confused ,is there a color on your black pick up in writing. dont mean to pin point things just want to narrow my search.

Yeah… “Lace …
Yeah… “Lace Sensor Tele pickups”….
nice vid man sounds …
nice vid man sounds really nice.. iv heard so many good things about these teles, im gonna pick one up and probably put in new pickups any1 hav any ideas on wat sort of pickups would go well with this tele??
Not really the same …
Not really the same, but the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is a great amp as well. They both can cover that rich natural breakup distortion sound really well. Both amps take to pedals nicely. I like the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and considered it as well. However, the Vibrolux has that response to picking dynamics that I crave.
Depends on the era …
Depends on the era or style of punk. Are you going for the Ramones sound? Iggy Pop and the Stooges? The Sex Pistols? Do you like newer punk? I feel this amp is really versatile and has a great “creamy” tone when overdriven. It it a little noisy, but with negative feedback loop modification this can be dealt with. I love this amp and feel on its own or at the end of a pedal chain it can cover punk really well.
Thanks for the …
Thanks for the reply. I’m “dreaming” with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe .. I guess they sound pretty much the same.. what do you think?
does it play well …
does it play well with punk?
Yes, it is a Fender …
Yes, it is a Fender “Custom” Vibrolux Reverb. The amp is completely stock and there have not been any after market modifications other than the amp jewel ( on light) being switched to blue… ha ha ha. In my opinion, these are great sounding amps that break up early (around 5 on volume) and are super responsive to dynamics in picking techiniques–just my $0.02…
Hi,
could you tell …
Hi,
could you tell me what amp is he playin?
Thanks .. and great guitar!
It sounds good with …
It sounds good with a little overdrive and a little distortion. It doesn’t really get a good or satisfying “Metal” tone. I wonder what it would sound like with EMG active pickups…but really, it isn’t that type of guitar. So…no it doesn’t really cover metal.
Does that guitar …
Does that guitar sound good with distortion?, like.. does it go good with the Metal sound?
“Great playing by …
“Great playing by the way!!”…thanks, I will tell my friend Drew–it is he in the vid playing my guitar. I wanted his opinion on the Squier. He is normally a guitar snob, but he really liked the guitar and in fact bought one himself.
Hey, thanks for …
Hey, thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
I think I will buy one and fix it up slowly.
Great playing by the way!!
Negatives…yeah. …
Negatives…yeah. I didn’t like the “Duncan Designed” pickups at all. This is why I put the Lace Sensor pickups in the guitar. It also needed a good setup and I have since replaced the bridge and tuners… I put on Schaller locking tuners. Now the guitar is a roaring beast!!
Hi, I played a SVMT …
Hi, I played a SVMT and was really impressed. any negatives you have found? I thought the sound was cool along with the construction and vibe!
Thanks
