the V4 makes a really great bass amp if you can get by with it’s power. If you play in a really loud band you might need more watts. You can use that 4×12 and it should be fine if you take it easy. Too much bass might destroy the speaekrs. An 8×10 is amazing. the amp will sound great and growl with no pedal, but the odb3 is a good choice and will also sound good

Sweet tone man. I’m considering using my V4 as a bass amp. I haven’t had a chance to yet so I figured I’d ask you if you’ve had any experience doing so. I am currently using the Ampeg V412 speaker cabinet with the head, which I’m thinking would have to be replaced if I were rocking a bass through it. What do you think? I’m also thinking of using my Boss ODB-3 overdrive bass pedal with the rig to give it some growl.

yeah man, it is totally awesome! I couldn’t resist dropping the p90 in there, and I’m glad I did. Takes the D standard tuning well. If it had a neck pickup it just might eclipse the radness that is my 69 SG special.
