54 is definitely a little warmer, softer. But they are both equally out of tune with that chorusy effect! Amazing how they did that-lol.

I agree, the real ‘54 sounded a bit warmer. The MB still sounded great tho. It’s tone will probably warm up a bit with age too.

Bought a 54 MB a …
Bought a 54 MB a couple of years ago, awesome guitar. It’s hard to tell with my crappy speakers which is the better one but the MB 54 sounds a tad brighter. Both have outstanding clarity and great note separation.
