a demo for angusyoungdeciple who was asking about the retrofit vibrola system.
i'm playing through a Vox ad30vt on the uk '80s setting (marshall jcm8oo i think?)
the guitar is a Vintage VS6 SG copy, with Wilkinson pickups and hardware.

aces, thanks for clarifying. i was using a setting that sounded more AC/DC so people could get a bit of the angus feeling.

when i was looking …
when i was looking at doing this mod i read a lot of comments and talked to people who had this type of tremolo, as i thought the same thing.
i’ve talked to people who’ve used their original ‘62 SGs with maestros heavily for over 40 years, and the tension is still fine – i didint find anyone who’d worn theirs out, although i suppose it is technically possible. i’d say that the only thing to remember is that it isn’t a floyd rose!
i have an epi sg …
i have an epi sg with the maestro. have you had any problems with the tension of the tremolo wearing out compared to other spring tension tremolos. just curious I’m almost afraid to use mine.

Must be nice being a rich ponce so you can afford all these guitars.
the length of body …
the length of body you need BEFORE the bridge is 7 inches, and that won’t fit on any les paul copy i have. you need 7 inches, then a gap, then the bridge.
would this fit on …
would this fit on an ESP ltd ec-50?
not so much, but …
not so much, but the G string onf most guitars is always a bit of a pain in the ass. the deep bends i do on the demo caused no tuning issues.
