What is the best Semi-Acoustic for under £400?
I've recently been looking at upgrading my old little Vintage V100 after a few years of decent service and want to make sure I buy the right thing!
I play mainly early-indie rock type stuff (pretty generic!) - massive Oasis, Smiths & Jam fan and so figured a semi acoustic might be the right way to go. I would like some the flexibility from that kind of sound, however.
And its got to look just as good as it sounds.
As I guess anyone who's ever heard Noel Gallagher play, I've checked out some Epiphone Dots and Casinos. I love them, I think they're great, but is it really that simple? Is that the best way to spend £400 on a guitar that'll have to last through light gigging for a good few years?
I'm no expert, help me out if you can! Much appreciated!
Tom
Try an epiphone semi-acoustic like this: http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/Electric_Guitars/Electric_Guitars/p1020.aspx (sounds great)
Vintage - http://www.ivormairants.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=216 or
http://www.gear4music.com/inventory-detail/index/?int_product_id=7877&gad=COO_5foBEgjUTSM1_6-iXBi0mZL_AyDfv5AR
Hope that helps

Check out this sitehttp://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Telecoustic-Deluxe-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-512613-i1384413.gc This guitar lists at 629.00 American dollars. I dont know how the British pound converts to dollars, but the way the US economy is right now,it’s probably a close buy. Hope this helps ya!

Your choice sounds decent enough to me considering your price range.
You can always tweak the necks etc and upgrade your pickups too at a later date.

as for an amp – I would certainly check out Crate amps (I love them!) when you can afford to.
Yes very nice http://epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=5&CollectionID=1
