which type of PRS guitar should i get if im into modern, hard rock to heavy type music?

like the custom 24. someone told me its more a vintage style guitar for more classic type music, but yet dozens of people use the custom 24 for some super heavy death metal type stuff.

so im lost, on paper it says this prs can do this but when i see someone playing it its always something that wasnt writen on the paper!
