Electric guitar painting question?

I want to paint my boring plain black squier strat (I would never repaint a good guitar) like the sunburst on the vintage Jaguar that Fender has out now. What is the base coat color, it's not amber like the traditional sunburst strat, it is some orange color.

First off let me ask you how good a a painter you are? This is a very complicated process. I know yoi like your ax so unless you know a lot get some help from someone who knows how to layer the paint.

Mark S. has a point. I have a friend who makes a living painting guitars. It isn’t that easy. Best research the process a bit before you run to the paint store.
