How do I install a whammy bar on my guitar?

The whammy bar came with the guitar, so I just screwed the bar in. Is there a specific way you're supposed to put it in? Also, when I use the whammy bar is the tremolo supposed to bend slightly up from the guitar when I push down on the whammy bar?

no there is not a specific way to put it in, just *****! yes it is supposed to bend slightly, it will bend more as you press on the bar
