Slideshow after annual service.
Neck fingerboard relaquered ( 1k Acrylic ) but original patina retained.....
(It was looking filthy black as fretboard had its laquer removed 20+ years earlier and all the dirt and fastfret etc had worked itself into the maple surface.) The relaquering had the effect of lowering the frets which were worn anyway making it feel very nice indeed. Many mods..Some good' some questionable..but you must remember before criticising these guitars were used and abused as working guitars altho we still cared for them originality was not a concern back then . I bought it as a 5 year old from LANGDONS ELECTRIC MUSIC in Wolverhampton in october 1978 for £200 ( £1300 in todays money based on average earnings). It cost £400 new in 1973 which is £5500 in todays Money based on average earings over 36 years. I suppose the average weekly wage must have been £50? So the original purchaser paid 8 times his weekly income in 1973? So.. Lets say an average income is £400 a week today then that would make it £3200 in todays money? Hmmmmmm Well you wouldnt catch me paying that now as I am reknown for buying VERY cheap kit from Ebay HaHa... It was not very well set up and had many defects from the factory but the neck was slim and narrow and very true.. so I just Did whatever mod I thought would make it a better workhorse. This included a new bridge pickup from a 1970s Yamaha SG 2000/Removing rear of body to stop resonance at high amplification ( NWOBHM ) and coil Taps /removal of tone control/custom Brass scratch plate /Strat style bridge pieces and so on. It was used in a working band for 20 years and daily since then as a loved instrument.

TELE GONG ( Art Guitar )

IT:

ENG:
We called "Tele Gong" last guitar that we made: it's an handcrafted Art Guitar (Telecaster Mod.), made with seasoned and selected wood and fitted with original Fender hardware.
The painting (it's absolutely not a decal!!) - inspired by Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii - was made under final glossy paint entirely by hand, so as to become an integral part of the body itself.
Special features of this guitar, in addition to the sounds that recall the late sixties, is "shell" working of two layers of paint below, arranged to give to the instrument an atmospheric and psychedelic suggestion. In short, a great effect guitar with a strongly vintage sound!
