Alfie, the Singapura cat, loves to play my vintage guitar collection. Although he stays mostly on the e-string, he does have good 4/4 timing

I have this old 1970's guitar, it use to be my mom's when she was nine, but it has some parts missing, (besides the fact that it NEEDS NEW STRINGS). One of the machine head is missing, and the bridge needs to be replaced. how much do you think it would cost?
This guitar btw isn't for a nine year old. Its just a regular 1970's guitar
Replacing a tuning machine is not too expensive although finding one that will match a 30+ year old guitar may be difficult. Replacing a bridge is more expensive and again will depend on whether a stock bridge will work or if one needs to be crafted for your guitar. Probably the two repairs will cost you around $150 if not a little more.
You did not state what kind of guitar it is. It's up to you to decide if it's really worth spending the money. Good luck.
Is investing in a vintage guitar a "sound investment?" Doug makes a brief appearance in this clip about investing in a different type of alternate investment. From a segment that appeared on CNN's "Your $$$$$" with Ali Velshi and Christine Romans.

I am looking for a steel string (6 string) Ventura Guitar. If you have the case too that would be nice. I had one when I was younger.
I think I had the 22 or 25 western model and case.
Thanks

Hi! This is just me Mattias Moberg testing one of my new guitars from my endorsers Bladeguitars. This is a perfect made guitar it just fits the hand perfectly! Biggest sound ever coming from a strat!
I have changed the bridge pickup to a dimarzio "Virtual Vintagesolo"
Sounds amasing!
Thanx to my Endorsers Blade and dimarzio for giving me the best stuff!
The video is not so serious just playing and having fun!

I recently was given a vintage acoustic guitar. It's a Vintage Checkmate G500 with a rose design in the pick guard. Pics below

Thanks!

Brian Setzer visited a small vintage guitar shop of Japan in 1992 with Rich Modica who was the guitar tech of Brian Setzer. This live was performed there at the time. The guitar and the amp were prepared by the shop, so this guitar is not his guitar. Brian Setzer performed only for just several customers who were there for nothing. He seldom does such a thing now, so this is a very rare and precious clip. This song was covered and recorded in the album of "ROCKABILLY RIOT A Tribute to Sun Records" in 2005, but this was 13 years earlier than it, so it seems that he has liked this song very much. Enjoy the difference from the version in 2005.
Other renditions at the time were posted also, so check them.
