I'm buying this book every year, just to know what the prices on the market are. It is my bible when I want to sell or to buy a guitar. Most of the most famous guitars are listed but if not, I also have the "Blue Book of Electric Guitars" and many others.

I am doing some serious shopping for nice, high-quality electric guitar.
I was wondering if any of you saw the episode of "made" on MTV where a high-school girl wants to be made into a rock star. Her coach gives her an electric guitar that looks like a Fender stratocastor. The color looks blue-ish. I want to know what guitar you think--or know---that it is. Please help me!
Here's a link to a possible answer that can be confirmed:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-American-Vintage-57-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=510048

and maybe another:

If you have any suggestions on a high-quality Fender (or other guitar) that plays well, is versatile, and is easy on the hands, than please supply them (a link would be very much appreciated.)
Important: It's the episode where a girl is made into a Battle of the bands singer.

Hello! The pictured guitar is an earlier model Fender Telecaster, probably in Blue Agave color (see http://www.fender.com/resources/colors/ ) with a maple neck. In regards to a guitar that meets your needs, you should take a look at reputable manufacturers such as Fender, Gibson, and Ibanez. Suggested model lines would include the Fender American Standard Stratocaster or Telecaster, Gibson Les Paul or SG, and the Ibanez S or SA Series. Trusted on-line sources for musical equipment would include Musician’s Friend ( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ ), Guitar Center ( http://www.guitarcenter.com/ ), zZounds ( http://www.zzounds.com/ ), Sam Ash ( http://www.samash.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/topCategories_-1_10052_10002 ), and American Musical Supply ( http://www.americanmusical.com/ ). Go to your local guitar store and play a few; once you make your choice, check on-line prices. After you have your guitar in hand, make sure to have it professionally set up for the lowest action possible. Best regards, Dana

Soo, first act electric guitar for Christmas……?

Ive heard bad things about these guitars so far, and this is gonna be the last thing i get on this holiday, since ill be 18 soon after Christmas day (i know, im prob too old for this guitar even, lol).. Anyway, I have two questions, is this guitar still ok for a starter, dispite it not being the best cheapo guitar..? Also, is this guitar even able to play with a vintage sound, because im very old school with my rock.. That's all. Thank you all for your time.

Well, It's true that First Act isn't a good brand. I have an acoustic. People are shocked because it doesn't sound bad, but it's not that great of quality. Since your 18, I'm not saying go all out (because you may be on a buget or something) but there are other good brands out there you can buy. Epiphone, Ibanez and Squier by Fender have nice guitars that aren't that much and sound great. You can go 2 www.musiciansfriend.com and search their site for guitars. They have great reviews and you can sort them by brand and price also. You don't have to buy from there, but just browse without going to the store and find out what you want and go from there (like call you local music store to see if they have it). Also, if you do buy from an actual store you may want to test the guitar to see if it's comfortable and fits your style. Good luck and Happy Holidays♥
